March 2016 Nominations

Hi everyone! It’s time for our first “real” nominations process.

We need to choose 2 recipes from the book for next month. Comment below with your choices. We’ll close comments on Sunday, 2/21, and then post a poll for people to vote. The March schedule will be posted by Friday, 2/26.

      1. For this month, I only let myself look at chapters we haven’t cooked from yet. But that will only work for a month or so… I also considered what produce is in season vs. what will be in seasons later in the year.

  1. I picked my suggestions before I looked at what everyone else was saying. Happy to see there’s some overlap. I nominate the Dukkah-Roasted Cauliflower (224) and the Buckwheat Madeleines (270). Katie, I love the Nominations graphic Did you make that?

  2. Frankly, after the month of February, I am sweet-ed out. And yes – I agree with Mardi, we don’t want any “month’s of anything” (esp. fish ๐Ÿ™‚ )

    Also, I know it’s early, but are we going to save the cover recipe for the end?

      1. The recipe for the mustard chicken is delicious, I’ve made it a few times. Also, Katie, I see many posting on the alumni page
        also, is that necessary? I have only done Facebook and CookthebookFridays.


  3. I am just fine with Belgian beef stew with beer and spice bread (198)
    Dukkah-Roasted cauliflower (224). Good choices. Saving the cover for last or some other special recipe is a good idea. I also have made the mustard chicken (with Susan and John Lester) and it is delicious.
