  1. This stew was not your average Iowa Beef Stew (my roots) but thought it was delicious in its unique way. What I really, really, really enjoyed was the Pain d’épices. Would this make a nice hostess gift at Christmas – mini loaves of Pain d’épices dressed up for the holidays? Must get busy. Katie, Alaia (aka Noodles) and Marcel are in Cambria for a quick getaway and are coming to lunch.   2. I’m sorry that I have to miss this week’s assignment. I was having fever for a few days and was not feeling all that well after that. The hot and humid weather here is not helping much either! All I want is light meals. Will try the stew on other days!
